DEQ is seeking a full-time IT Systems Analyst - Web Developer.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to conduct complex data and application analysis and design; web application development; and technical support.  As a member of the Department’s Information Services team, the incumbent will analyze user needs and creatively apply their technical knowledge in the design and/or modification of new and/or existing applications, databases, and systems. 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain web-based applications
  • Apply technical knowledge creatively to identify and solve complex problems
  • Design database-driven and application systems ensuring design specifications and documentations meet published standards
  • Work with clients and users to identify and define specific business requirements and advance project development
  • Conduct system tests
  • Advise Information Services Manager on database and web project-related issues

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience performing complex systems design and analysis

Desirable Qualifications (the education and/or experience below is not required but may increase your score):

  • Web development environments such as Visual Studio, application frameworks such as ASP.NET, MVC, Entity Framework, etc. and one or more modern programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, etc.
  • Database and website design concepts
  • Solid understanding of database design and object modeling

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and work on a computer for 2-4 hours at a time
  • Some periods of heavy reading and typing required
