 DEQ is committed to protecting human health and preserving the quality of Idaho's air, land, and water.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process STARS download and update access databases daily and monthly.
  • Reconcile DEQ financial databases to STARS monthly
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for portions of the loan program, fixed assets, and sweep/suspense accounts.
  • Prepare adjusting journal entries to the GL and budget programs
  • Prepare federal draws for grants
  • Maintain and reconcile federal draw applications
  • Assist in several functions related to the loan program
  • Assist with requests for financial information for state and federal auditors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices

EXAMINATION: You will receive a score based on your answers.  You must receive a minimum rating of 42 to pass this examination.  Exam results are available online when the review process is complete.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit and work on a computer for 2 - 4 hours at a time
  • Ability to reach and bend for filing purposes
  • Some periods of heavy reading and typing
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds when working with files boxes
  • Must have a valid driver's License
  • Occasional travel required
